About Us
Eugene and Janice Barlow are the owners of GOLF ON THE GO in Houston, Texas.
In preparations for retirement from the Marine Corps, Eugene and Janice decided to seek entrepreneurial avenues that brought enjoyment to others. With various franchises and other business opportunities available, the decision was truly a difficult one.
One day, while the in-laws were visiting, the family went to their favorite pastime: the miniature golf course. Janice's father, being in his late seventies, never set foot on any type of golf course before. He quickly learned how to properly hold his putter as he mentally analyzed the curvatures of the hole before him: he played as a novice, but felt like a professional. After they completed the 18 hole course, the mild manner seventy plus year old was filled with excitement and vitality. As he walked away from the course, he looked up and said, "I really enjoyed myself"; he paused and continued, "That is something that I can do again." His excitement and their love for the game, resolved the search for the best business venture for them.
Since then, they have been driven to provide Houston with the unique concept of portable miniature golf; a concept that allows miniature golf, normally a location-based entertainment, to be brought to any corporate, personal, or charitable event. With Houston being the fourth largest city within the United States, GOLF ON THE GO will be the alternative to the normalcy currently being provided; a breath of fresh air for the many golf and miniature golf lovers who call Houston home.
Mission Statement
GOLF ON THE GO desire is to bring people together to experience enjoyable comradely and competition while playing miniature golf at their designated location in the greater Houston area.
Our ability to bring miniature golf and other related equipment to your location creates diversity and excitement for corporate events, church programs, charitable fund raisers, tournaments, school activities, promotional functions, and any other event where people gather for entertainment.
Convenience, Versatility, and Dependability is the hallmark of our customer satisfaction. Learning from each event, in order to provide better quality service for future clients is our goal.
Owners
After 21 years of faithful service in the United States Marine Corps, I decided to seek other adventures in life. Along with my best friend, partner, and wife, Janice, we believed entrepreneurship was the transition for us. After researching different small businesses and franchises, it became clear that the innovative concept of portable miniature golf was for us. With further research, we realized we could have the independence of our own business; while having the support of partnership with an already seasoned company. This type of opportunity ignited our desire to purchase a business license with Portable Golf Solutions (PGS). This already established company embraced our ambition with the opportunity of enormous possibilities. With the support of Portable Golf Solutions, we believe our company, Golf on the Go, can take Houston, Texas by storm. We gravitate to the concept "Business is booming and the business is portable miniature golf".
